RIte Care Hearing: Action Alert

Hi everyone,

Tomorrow, there will finally be a hearing for Representative Diaz's bill to restore the cuts made to RIte care. For all of us who have put time and effort into making signs, rallying, and lobbying, this will be a great opportunity to provide a last bit of support for the bill and listen to testimony from our very Dan Schwarz, along with other local physicians and activists.

If anyone would like to come and show your support for the bill and for Dan please meet me (Juan) at the BMC tomorrow at 12:15 pm. As medical students we will be in the audience wearing our white coats and basically demonstrating our support. Hearings will take place between 1:00-4:00 pm but we are not exactly sure when the RIte care bill will be heard.

If anyone would like to meet us there instead of meeting in the BMC just show up to the Trainer hearing room (RM 35) by 1pm.

Thanks for all the help and we hope to see you tomorrow.

Pizza Brigade on Wednesday, May 9--Please RSVP if interested!

Hi everyone,

Thanks to those who voted on the pizza poll. From the results, it looks like Wednesday, May 9 is the preferred date. However, since only 5 people voted, I'm still trying to gauge if people are really interested in participating.

For those who are new to this blog, the Pizza Brigade is a return of what has become a popular event. Please join us for a chance to mingle with other students and faculty and to learn more about ongoing health advocacy efforts at Brown.

Please RSVP to margret_chang@brown.edu by Sunday, May 6 (this weekend) if you would like to come.

Thanks,

Margret
